The Birth of our massaging bath bar
written by Amy
ah-ha SOAPS began by accident really (that creation came with the creation of our Rolling Hand Soaps - see prior blog post). The idea, the experiments, the testing, the creation; all from a single accident.
.. and these massaging bath bars are no different.
So here we go again, another boring “blog” post, by me, yours truly, Amy Christine.
Let’s begin by saying that at this point, we are in the experimental phase but making soap has become so satisfying that we foresee a long, long future in it… So, in the middle of one of these “soapmaking days,” I was finishing up a batch of soap in our kitchen when my son walked into the room. He stands there for awhile, watching as I slowly and carefully pop out the fully dried bars of soap from their molds. These molds are in the shape of long trays. I then proceed to break each “tray” of soap into smaller pieces. He then looks at me and asks, “why don't you keep some of those together for a bigger bar of soap?”
…and then it dawned on me. Duh, he had an excellent point! Why wasn't I doing that? I was too focused on my single idea of hand (rolled) soap that that was all I was planning on making, but thanks to my son, and his brilliant ideas, we then decided to experiment with another possible product to offer. This evolutionalized the first rolling hand soap into the massaging bath bar and then into the luxury massaging body bars that you see today. You can thank my son for these amazing soap bars. They are all I use in the shower now. I quickly discarded the liquidy detergents (aka body washes) that I once believed were good for me. These body bars have been tried and approved by everyone in this household and I, for one, highly doubt I will ever go back to those liquid body washes, aka synthesized detergents, that I had grown used to using.
Adios body wash. Hello massaging bath bar (and healthier skin).
